Surcharges

Surcharges are additional cost components — seasonal, route-specific or service-specific charges that apply on top of base rates: for example low-water surcharges, peak-season fees, or dangerous-goods handling.

In LaneGain, surcharges are managed as their own catalogue and applied to calculations as visible, separate lines — never silently merged into a base number. Like fuel, applicable surcharges belong to the live group of components: after an offer is sent, they can continue to re-index while the frozen base stays untouched.

The principle across the whole pricing engine is the same: every euro in the total has a name, a source and a date.
