Supplier rates

Supplier rates in LaneGain are versioned. A rate for a ferry line, a rail service or a road tariff is not a single number — it is a history of versions, each with its own validity period and monetary values.

Why it matters: transport rates change on schedules that do not respect your quoting calendar. Pricing against “the latest number in the sheet” quietly produces offers based on rates that expired last Tuesday.

How resolution works. When the calculator prices a leg, it resolves the rate version that is valid on the relevant date. If no valid version exists, the leg is flagged instead of silently priced at zero or at an old value.

Bidirectional lines. For fixed lines (ferry, rail), a rate matches a leg only if both endpoints match the line’s endpoints — direction-aware, so a Rotterdam→Riga rate is never applied to a Riga→Rotterdam leg by accident.

Statuses. Each rate shows its current status (valid, expiring, expired) so the rates screen doubles as a maintenance to-do list: you can see what needs renegotiation before it bites a quote.
